I am a qualified Chartered Accountant, Insolvency Practitioner and Credit professional with over 25 years’ experience.My current role is Head of Credit at Edmundson Electrical, responsible for the Company’s credit function and 14 Regional Credit Managers.Prior to this, I spent over 5 years as Credit Operations Director at Radius Payment Solutions, with responsibility for the end to end credit process for our UK and Ireland operations. This involved leading teams that undertook new account vetting, customer monitoring, collection of overdue debts and debt recovery. I also spent significant time covering Radius’ Western Europe credit function.Before joining Radius I worked for 21 years at Deloitte, firstly qualifying as a chartered accountant, then spending 18 years in Restructuring. I was involved with significantly in excess of 100 businesses undertaking both Advisory and Insolvency work. The work was delivered for a variety of stakeholders, including banks, Private Equity sponsors, asset based lenders and directly for corporates.Utilising my Restructuring background, I also undertook pension covenant work. My principal focus was advising Trustees and Sponsors of defined benefit pension schemes, regarding Employer Covenant and I led Deloitte's Pension Covenant services in the North of England.In addition, I have experience in pre lend reviews, cash flow management, refinancing and vendor led due diligence. As well as the Restructuring team at Deloitte, I also spent 10 months on secondment with the Business Support Unit at the Bank of Scotland.My core skills include: - End to end Credit Operations - Rapid diagnosis and understanding of key issues for businesses; - Preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts; - Delivering understandable covenant advice to pension scheme trustees; - Analysing pre and post transaction covenant strength; - Raising of debt finance; and - Management of multiple stakeholders.I have experience in a number of sectors including wholesale, fuel cards, manufacturing, retail, contracting, utilities, services, professional practices and transport & distribution, across a broad range of business sizes.
