Proposed options for procurement solution, arranged demonstrations and presentations (participating in some) of best solutions to upper management and project sponsors, wrote a report presenting short list solutions. Accomplishment: the company implemented one of my proposed systems: Puridiom (SaaS.)5. Evaluated the market place for a replacement for their existing Service Desk Ticketing application (IssueTrak), selected applications that best met requirements, wrote a report to present short list solutions to upper management and project sponsors. At the end of my contract, Samuel were leaning towards one of the proposed solutions; Microsoft System Center Service Manager.6. Created various MS Excel pivot tables and charts to provide visibility of procurement history based on journal entries and GL entries. This was done by importing data from IBM System i DB2 database, using ODBC, and using VLookup and HLookup functions.Accomplishment: company had good visibility to spend analysis by branch, product type, season, category etc. and were able to enforce procurement standards and rules accordingly, resulting in millions of dollars in savings as spend exceeded Million $100 per year on non-metals. 8. Managed and designed a project to facilitate the imaging of payable invoices and supporting documentation for journal entries (promissory notes, AFEs, receipts). Accomplishments:• Considerable savings: No longer did branches have to courier documents to the central office, nor did they need to be stored for 7 years• New functionality: Images of invoices etc. were viewable from IBM System i functions and in the Imaging system; i.e. print, view, email, fax.
Programmer Analyst - Contract
This application vendor developed a WMS system (Maestro). This system controlled all aspects of warehouse management, from receiving at the dock to shipping, and included directed picking with barcode scanners and RF guns. My role included programming (RPGILE) and testing in the base and customers' systems, providing project estimates and proposals, base and custom designs, writing specifications, development and implementation at various customer sites. Service desk support for SCM / 3PL; usually remote support. Onsite support for customers.1. Implemented Maestro at West49 warehouse in Burlington. Also designed and built the workflow (including programming and implementation) for shipments (full and partial) from the WMS system (Maestro) to feed to the customer's Unix based system in order for their ASN and invoicing functions. Ongoing support and customization.2. Independently successfully migrated West49 to a new release of Maestro WMS.
