I have a wealth of commercial experience gained in both the private and public sectors. I’ve held a range of international roles in blue chip companies, including Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where I worked on the $56 million European PlayStation Launch. My senior roles within the public sector have enabled me to develop valuable skills and insight into working with decision makers in Government. With this blend of blue chip, start-up and public sector experience I have a unique insight into how to develop and deliver productive partnerships between businesses of all sizes and the public sector. A focus of much of my work is on the exploitation of the triple helix model of innovation, which brings industry, universities and government together, to unlock value for all. I have a strong track record and passion for new product development, as well as extensive experience in raising commercialisation funding. During my time in the university sector, I secured tens of millions of Pounds of commercialisation and enterprise funding. In 2012, I formed IP Boutique, a consultancy that specialises in enabling industry, university, and public sector clients develop winning strategies to secure government funding and private investment. IP Boutique clients have now secured over £350m of UK Government and EU funding for projects that have attracted an additional £700m of private investment. This success covers a broad range of sectors, for clients from industry, UK universities, LEPs, combined authorities and local government. This work has supported flagship projects in areas that include 5G, Digital Futures, Automotive-Zero Emissions, Cyber Security, Quantum, MedTech, Creative Industries and Human/Animal Health. An increased focus of my work is supporting societal challenges and cross cutting themes, which include NetZero, digitalisation, social inclusion, and social mobility.I am currently driving IP Boutique to develop an exciting new concept that blends my experience and knowledge of commercialisation within technology sectors, applying this in a new way to the creative industries sector.
