I am a senior IT executive, VP of Engineering, dedicated to building quality software to improve and save lives. I believe in creating a strong collaborative environment that fosters the professional development of my colleagues and myself. I enjoy myself most when I am learning from others. I've had quite the interesting career as a nuclear physicist, software engineer, architect, manager, and Vice President. I've had the opportunity to work in a salt mine half a mile underground in order to search for extra-galactic supernova explosions. I've built healthcare systems that directly help save people's lives including SPECT and PET medical imaging systems and radiation treatment planning software. The pride and joy of my professional experience so far has been building the Mobile Field Kit for our military to use in their search for weapons of mass destruction domestically and abroad. My role in this effort as team lead, product owner, project manager, and subject matter expert combined my expertise in software development with my training as a Ph.D. nuclear physicist to build a system that helps to save lives.These last several years, I’ve had the fun of incubating new kinds of service offerings, essentially acting as a start-up within a larger company, building the service execution playbooks, go-to-market strategy, and sales enablement material, plus hiring, training and managing the execution teams. I place a high value in training the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. I also believe strongly in preparing our youth for careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). As such, I have organized numerous merit badge clinics related to computers, programming, and nuclear science. I've also had the privilege of leading my Troop to hike the 14,000 ft high Pike's Peak. Twice!
