I am in the Victorian planning and environment team at HWL Ebsworth having moved here in August 2012. Currently working on a couple of major EES projects, Precinct Structure Plans, contaminated sites, retail developments and some infill medium density projects. Also keeping busy in the water sector dealing with a number of interesting projects, including a major waste water recycling scheme and a waste to energy project, plus a number of environmental issues. I have a strong advocacy practice at both VCAT and Planning Panels.My current research and policy interests are twofold: strategies to increase urban housing densities, especially via 'deemed to comply' guidelines to encourage greater industry participation in the 2 to 4 storey sector; and, achieving sustainable development and water governance and management issues in Australia, particularly through IWCM at the local and regional scale. I have been a lawyer specialising in town planning, environment, local government and water law since 1994. Prior to this I worked as a town planner, had a project management practice and lectured at Victoria University.I was President of the Victorian AWA Branch 2013 - 2015, and previously a national director for 4 years. I have been a director of the Urban Development Institute of Australia and the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association.
