Now the tables have turned 180 degrees. The power to thrive in one’s environment is no longer the case. People no longer have control over their destiny anymore. All the hard work so many of us dredged through and refined to enter the world of true professionals over the past 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, and even 40 or 50 years for some, is now hearsay and not a token of one’s character, strength, endurance, self-discipline, and so many more attributes that make us who we really are in this world. Companies have shown that they could not care less about how its employees feel as long as they can meet they're goals. The companies of today set their goals almost out of reach as the days pass, leaving ones expectations somewhere in the clouds. One by one we fall into the machine as it gets harder and harder to grease the wheels of this mighty relentless giant. We are scattered about the land of this great country like broken pieces of heart broken and destroyed lives.Today I can take my talents and skills and hope to find a job at whatever companies choose to pay, as there is an infinite line of broken lives behind me to stoop lower and take less for the job. How humiliating is this cycle that takes people for granted, hires them, and then spits them out all over again. Of course there are so many who have hung on and given their lives to their companies, only to have cuts all over them to show how much the companies have eaten away to the raw bone to acquire the goals to meet this almost impossible bottom line. I thought this country would only get better with time and start achieving the human element (HU). A way of life that includes all of us as we prosper and have choices to bettering our lives. A way of life that makes us proud of what we have become because we all chipped in and accomplished this together. A life where money is not the controlling factor, and we can focus on what happiness is all about. A place we can safely turn over to our children.Instead, there are millions starving, millions without a roof over their heads (or both), and millions more just about to enter into this low-lifestyle. Instead we have broken highways and bridges about to collapse, or have already collapsed and taken so many innocent lives. Instead we have so many dependencies in other countries that leave us in debt like a mobster holding us under their power, as if this country was in their pockets ... so to speak. Instead, This United States of America, reaches its hand way beyond its reach by taking care of the most difficult issues and problems in so many other countries that, I'm afraid to say, they forget about the lives, in American, who desperately most need care. I can go on and on at how bad things really are in this country. One good thing is that so many of us are in the same boat so we can ride this out together. We can hold onto each other and work together to survive this high tide. We can choose to be happy as we watch our country destroy itself over one simple fact ... GREED! "GREED", is the driving force in which "only the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer". I am simply disgusted with who has the power in this country when "we are the people, we hold the power", no longer exists. It's a sad day when you know that we need such a drastic change in this country where the power shift is where it belongs; otherwise, we have not seen anything yet! What's to come is only more and more of the road we are already on. We need to take a left at the fork in the road. We need for our government to feel that the people are the ones doing the governing ... period!!! How do we get there? How do we take our dependencies away from the very wealthy and put the power back into our own hands ... the masses? How do we turn this titanic around in a bathtub? For now, I choose to live within my means at the cost of comfort and novelty. I choose to put my Trust in a Higher Power and take each day as it comes, for God has never promised us another day ... I choose to step out of my head and see the sunsets and listen to the music that brings Joy to my Heart and Soul. Look out over the ocean and watch the waves come in and out like the hands of time moving the stones and sands to new places. Watching nature take its course without man trying to change things. Treating the beautiful animals of this earth with the respect they so deserve. After all we have taken away their homes as we turn our homes and backyards into sanctuary's to please our unforgiving drive to have better than our neighbors. Saving a turtle that may be crossing the road, instead of watching in our rear view mirrors as the masses of traffic rolls forward. I just want to do what is truly right in this life. What does not feel right to me is becoming a slave for a company that will only use me and abuse me. Do I have a choice? I like to believe if enough of us feel the same way me, our choices will become better and better with time, instead of the other way around. Change is very difficult, yet we allowed ourselves to be forced about like letters in a tumbler at a bingo game. Maybe I'll be the chosen one. I'll end my story of "me and my thoughts" by saying it has been a pleasure knowing all of you on this great pyramid of Linked-In. I hope and pray we all end up in a happy place and a place where our families will thrive. Don’t worry, I'm not going anywhere for the time being, so continue to look me up and send me your messages. May God Bless You All (Lord willing and the creek don't rise), as any Joe would say. God, please bring us all to the place you want for each of us, and help us to recognize the best things in life for your Glory. Make us see this world through your eyes, Our Heavenly Father.
