I focus my practice in construction law.CONTRACTS: I draft and negotiate construction contracts, construction managemeent agreements, design contracts, subcontracts, design/build contracts, EPC contracts, and other construction agreements. I work with AIA, EJCDC, and other contracts. I have drafted and negotiated contracts for stadiums, ethanol plants, apartments, commercial projects, luxury homes, and other projects.MECHANICS LIENS: I prosecute and defend mechanics liens, payment bond claims, and other payment claims.CONSTRUCTION DELAY CLAIMS: I have prosecuted and defended dozens of design and construction delay claims, disruption claims, and acceleration ranging from six figures to mid eight figures in courts, arbitrations, and mediations. CONSTRUCTION DEFECTS: I have prosecuted and defended construction defect claims, and related insurance coverage disputes, ranging from six figures to mid eight figures. Construction defect issues I have encountered include moisture and vapor intrusion through defectively constructed and designed exterior wall components, concrete failures, retaining wall failures, soil settlements, flooding and condensation. INSURANCE COVERAGE: I represent parties in coverage disputes with insurers regarding CGL, professional liability, Builder's Risk and other insurance policies.SURETY: I have represented sureties, principals, and obligees in complex performance and payment bond claims, and claims to enforce general agreements of indemnity.DISPUTE RESOLUTION: I have mediated, arbitrated, and litigated cases through trial. I emphasize careful, strategic and efficient preparation in my practice to further client goals. I am skilled in early mediation of complex construction disputes. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PROCUREMENT: I consult with clients on public procurement, including design-build, P3, "best value," and "low bid" methods. I represent parties in bid protests.I am licensed in Illinois and Minnesota
