As the Network Manager my duties include supporting the broadening efforts of the technology management programs across the Naval Medical Operational Training Command (NMOTC) enterprise. Part of my responsibilities was to solve complex issues while remaining sensitive to the customer needs. Doing this allowed me and my team to solve problems and identify possible conflicts that may cause us not to be as efficient and accurate as possible. Once we were able to resolve all of the open issues we were able to start pre planning projects which allowed us to better inform the stake holders and really listen to our customers and produce better results. After being trained our team is able to brain storm solutions and looking at each problem from a different prospective and come up with more viable solutions. During this time I am also filling in for a missing Network Engineer.

Currently I maintain all physical, switching and routing equipment in the NMOTC enterprise. As the SME for all OSI layers 1, 2 and 3 devices located within the NMOTC clemency, utilizing technology to include: CISCO, Juniper, Linux, and various third party appliances and applications in support of network operations. Part of my responsibility is to investigate, design and implement Switching and Routing (OSI L2/3) Network Administration and Technologies regardless of manufacture. Using technologies like F5, ForeScout and Solarwinds to support, troubleshoot and ensure proper operation of application level filtering and monitoring. I also oversee enclave access and zone mapping in reference to Untrusted, Intranet, Trusted, DMZ, OOB, Printers and Remote Access (VPN) zones and networks.

Currently working on preparing the BNOC to assume the responsibilities of the ANOC from San Diego due to the closure of the ANOC. Building Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V hosts and 2012 R2 Member Servers. Creating images by installing Windows 2012 R2, applying updates, scanning with ACAS Vulnerability Scanner for issues, applying STIGS, setting up on HBSS server and installing roles and features. I am currently building 44 servers for Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, File Servers, Load Balancers, McAfee HBSS Servers and Tenable ACAS Servers for both the unclassified and classified networks. As the only Network Communications Analyst my duties also included everything from running cables to monitoring and installing networks for Military Sealift Command. I maintained all documentation and network maps as well as documenting any adds, moves and changes to the network. I installed and configured several edge routers as well as core switches with outlying switches. I have written SOP's for all our techs and watch personnel

San Antonio, Texas Area

I built Exchange Servers, Active Directory Domain Controllers, File Servers, Deltek Servers, Network Attached Storage Servers, Storage Area Networks, Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions. I designed a multi VLAN Network for Metrica. This allowed their customers and government contractors to access several systems while hiding the rest.As the Manager over the entire IT department I was in charge of designing networks and computer systems for several Federal customers as well as assisting Federal contractors by standing in for them during vacations and vacancies. I was the PM over the movement of a Federal client’s data center for GSA from Pensacola NAS to Corry Station which came in under budget and on time. Metrica has a contract with the Department of Treasury Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) to design and maintain all networks and server systems which included over 500 laptops and desktops worldwide. I designed and assisted in the build of the network and server systems. I worked with our tech at OTA to apply STIGS to all Windows Servers and workstations. I also assisted the tech on setting up Disaster Recovery plan.

Eagle Pass, Tx

Reengineered one large multi-vendor based network into a central based network to enable each company’s employees to manage their systems without interfering with other companies systems. Each vendor who was granted access was tracked and recorded for the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) in order to record any wrong doing by a company employee. I Setup and monitored SLA’s with outside Network Companies to deliver their connection with Zero Downtime.Developed and wrote Standard Operating Procedures for the IT department to be in compliance with the Minimum Internal Control Standards set by NIGC.Defined the priorities and resources of all system projects, while assisting the tribe in planning for future expansions. Developed and maintained department budgets and staffing issues. I managed and trained 15 employees to run and take care of day to day operations. Redefined the way IT department handles the day to day functions by training their employees that everyone is our most valued customer, and our customer service will meet the highest of standards. Worked and assisted in the design of a customer appreciation system by tracking everything from a child’s birthday to their anniversary with their spouse in order to let them know how valuable they were to the casino.

Talequah, Ok

I created two networks for the Tribe and Casino. I setup a Windows 2003 Active Directory with users located in two separate towns. I linked multiple networks together using Cisco ASA VPN solution. Built them an Exchange 2003 Email server that was clustered. I also designed and setup a Disaster Recovery site with all of the data from both the Casino and Tribe replicating on a Microsoft Distributed Backup System for live data recovery.

Miami, Ok

Designed network and VoIP phone system for Miami Tribe to run across geographically dispersed locations. I upgraded all Windows 2000 servers to Windows 2003. Installed a DNS, DHCP and WINS server for all Windows Clients. I setup a Linux Web server and defined backup strategies for all servers. (Linux,Unix,Windows) Installed an Internet T-1 and setup Cisco PIX Firewalls with multiple VPN Connections. Installed an AVAYA VoIP phone system and instructed staff on installation of IP phones. Trained users and staff to use new network systems and phones. Prepared all reports required by the federal government for grant purposes.

Miami, Ok

Designed and managed the following systems LAN, WAN and Extranets for MBDA, eSupport and our $500,000,000 Gaming Network. This network is a 7/24 365 revenue generating system with a down time cost estimated at $10,000 per second. Negotiated contracts with Sprint GSA to minimize cost and reduce downtime. Relocated all Voice, Data and Video Services to Miami Ok, which allowed us more bandwidth and the ability to expedite the schedule. Quick time-to-market enabled company to gain competitive edge and acquire new clients. Designed and Administered Frame Relay and router (Cisco & Bay) based network for redundancy and maximum throughput. Designed and implemented NationsNetwork.Net's wireless network which covers 6 towns and has 800 + customers. We used 900 MHZ and 2.4 GHZ for customer locations and 5 GHZ equipment for the backhaul. Designed and implemented Linux Servers to serve as E-Mail, HTTP, FTP and Web Hosting. Setup and installed Cisco 5250 Dialup Routers. Maintained and monitored network for commitment levels issued to customers. Wrote business plan and assisted in submitting for two federal grants of which we won.

Tulsa, Oklahoma Area

Setup and Maintained HP Open View Network Node Manager with Cisco Works to monitor and document outages for increased efficiency, easier maintenance, and improved customer service while allowing reimbursement of expenses from Sprint and Local Telco. Designed and Implemented Samson Companies Checkpoint Internet VPN for Voice, Video and Data to 10 remote offices around the globe saving thousands of dollars per month on communication costs. Setup Internet Access for 500+ users to allow telecommuting during travel. Setup and Installation of multiple DNS, DHCP and WINS Servers, to allow the IT department to use DHCP and cut down on administration costs.
