I am responsible for Short term planning of all Drilling and Blasting activities, from drilling, charging and blasting,using Minesight software to create drill plan patterns and overlay processing. Liaisons with Grade control geologist to ensure that plant quality feed requirements are met. Communicate short term plan with management and supervisor. Monitoring of adherence to short term and advising corrective action on any deviations. Reconciliation of actual performance versus target. Integrate short term planning into life of mine plan, Mining technology studies, Technical systems audit, Establish and maintain technical standards, Establish and maintain complex management information system, conduct benchmark exercise internally and externally and use same to improve mining operations.

Managing a pit mining operation (Stripping, Hauling, Drilling& Blasting) legal compliance. Liable for budget control, performance management, SHEE, optimisation, continuous business improvement, interaction with support disciplines. Analysing production and related data for decision making. Creating short term mining plans (mine scheduling and daily progress data) and contributing to the long term mining plan. Working on short term production related projects and contractors management as well as waste management as well as adhoc reporting duties by Mining Department.Upgrading and introducing the traffic management plan on Mamatwan for separation between people, earthmoving machines and light vehicles.

Assisting the Mine Manager in terms of Section 7 (2) and 3(1)(a) of the MHSA in the carrying out of his duties and responsibilities within my area of responsibility. Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the MHSA, MHSA Regulations and the Minerals Act Regulations. Taking steps to ensure that all persons under your charge are fully conversant with the provisions of the MHSA, MHSA Regulations and the Minerals Act Regulations. Observe and enforce any codes of practice; any instructions, procedures, directive, permissions, exemptions etc issued by the mine, or the Department Mineral Resources.Taking responsibility for the proper discipline of all persons under my charge; provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of employees within my area of responsibility; Identify relevant hazards and assess the related risks to which persons who are not employees may be exposed, and ensure that persons who are directly affected by activities within my area of responsibility are not exposed to any hazards to their health and safety.

Supervising ADT Stripping and Hauling operations on a three shift basis to meet the production requirements of the company. Assisting with dragline stripping on the back shifts.
