Mark Biggs has had over 39 years of experience in base metal, industrial mineral, and coal exploration and mine evaluation throughout Australia. He has worked extensively within most states of Australia with particular emphasis on Queensland's Bowen and Surat Basins and has been resident at several Central Queensland coal mines for 22 years. During this time he held the roles of Chief Geologist, Coal Scheduling Superintendent, Acting Technical Services Manager and Principal Geologist.Mark’s extensive geological knowledge and management experience in the coal industry has given him a unique perspective in providing exploration companies during their IPO (Initial Public Offering) journeys to ASX listing and in overseeing the completion of many scoping and pre-feasibility studies. He has international experience in open-cut and underground geophysical techniques, geotechnical, quality, and structural modelling, for coal, industrial minerals and base metals.He is and has been a Competent Person as defined by the JORC Code for 32 years.Mark has extensive experience in delivering geological consulting and management services to the coal, industrial mineral, and hard rock mining industries investigating projects in Australia, Southern Africa, Indonesia, Tanzania, Mongolia and China.In December 2018 Mark successfully completed the AusIMM Online Professional Certificate in JORC Code reporting.

Principal GeologistThe Moultrie Group Apr 2008 - Dec 2012In April 2008 Mark left Anglo Coal to work for a private consultancy, Moultrie Database & Modelling (MDM), as the inaugural Manager to their new coal geological modelling division. He is a Competent Person as defined by the JORC Code (for coal and industrial minerals) and has extensive experience in open cut and underground geophysical techniques, coal quality, geotechnical and structural modelling, and scheduling for coal.In October 2010 Mark was appointed Principal Geologist for the Moultrie Database and Modelling and Mark’s extensive geological knowledge and management experience in the coal industry gave him a unique perspective in overseeing the delivery of MDM’s expansion to forty (40) personnel. MDM’s team of geologists and project specialists had extensive experience in delivering geological and management services to the coal and mining industries for projects in Australia, Southern Africa, Indonesia, Mongolia and China. Mark was also seconded (in March 2012) to be Principal Geologist for another Moultrie Group vehicle, Coal Face Resources, a company that holds significant coal tenure ground in Queensland. In December 2012 Mark left the Moultrie Group to establish his own consultancy, ROM Resources Pty Ltd, still specialising in the exploration and evaluation of coal deposits wherever they may occur. -
Chief GeologistAnglo Coal, Dawson Mine Dec 2002 - Mar 2008Moura QldIn December 2002, Mark moved to Moura Mine as their first resident geologist since 1995. In 2004 he was again appointed Chief Geologist of the new Dawson Mines Expansion Project, having been extensively involved in the feasibility study. During this time he was Acting Technical Services Manager on several occasions and has also been the site liaison for all site cultural heritage surveys. In September 2006, Mark moved to a new role as Coal Quality and Scheduling Superintendent, where he headed a team of people involved in short to medium term scheduling of overburden, coal uncovery and coal quality predictions.
