With over 39 years of transportation engineering experience, my focus is on bridge, interchange and ramp designs, analysis of pavement or surface damage, reconstruction and rehabilitation of bridges, drainage designs for structures, and safety designs for highways. I designed a Collapse Detection and Motorist Warning system that detects a span collapse and activates emergency alarms, lowers gates denying traffic across the bridge and activates LED flashing lights spaced across a bridge. In addition, I routinely present technical presentations at conferences and meetings throughout the Texas area. Previously I worked for the Texas Department of Transportation, Bridge Division. I has served numerous roles for organizations such as AASHTO/ARTBA/AGC Task Force 13 on Standardization of Highway Safety Hardware; American Traffic Safety Federation, International Road Federation, and National Cooperative Highway Research Program. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cum Laude, from the University of Houston and am a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
