A key argument made in the book is that we should look at the 2020s in much the same way as a number of preceding transition period decades triggered by massive technological changes and therefore also massive commercial and socioeconomic changes. Such decades are always distinguished by intellectual confusion and tedious tribal mudslinging - yet both the equilibrium reset and final outcomes are much more predictable and favourable than typically understood. Mark is moreover arguing that for those willing to see we are already inching towards a yet again more stable equilibrium.
