The Zone SHEQ Manager role involved management of a small Safety, Health, Environment and Quality team, to enable the broader business in NSW to comply with legislation, and meet customer, regulator and audit requirements. The scope of the role covered the Regional head office, 2 cylinder operations sites, 4 tonnage sites, 1 warehouse and distribution centre, 2 Healthcare centre and 15 retail outlets.Modes of delivery of the SHEQ teams functions include training, auditing, collaboration with all levels of the NSW team in development of agendas, programs and projects, incident prevention and management, interacting with regulators and provision of advice and updates relating to legislation and legislative change.Highlights of the role included building a very effective SHEQ team, involvement in the introduction od a drug and alcohol program, managing the transition to harmonised legislation and leading the site in 3 successful WorkCover self insurance audits

Engineering management of the largest BOC gas filling site in the Southern Hemisphere, with responsibility for financial, strategic, personnel, capital engineering and maintenance aspects. The team of 17 included engineers, tradesmen and support staff.Highlights include involvement in EBA negotiation, reduction of outstanding corrective actions and overseeing the deployment of capital for process improvement.

During my tenure at Prysmian Cables (known as Pirelli cables at the time) I also held the role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.The role entailed maximising the uptime of telecommunications cable making machinery to meet customer demands, and managing capital projects to improve productivity and quality. The maintenance team included 2 engineers, 17 tradesmen and support staff.Highlights include implementing a maintenance management system (Mainpac) including condition monitoring processes, staff recruitment, and participation in the strategic planning process for the facility

During my tenure at Electrolux (then Email Appliances) I held Facilities Design Engineer and Assistant Plant Engineer roles)Highlights of these roles include:- implementation of a maintenance management system (PC-Maint) and instigating and managing plant reliability teams as Assistant Plant Engineer- design of various structures (cranes, conveyors, chemical stores), management of capital projects, maintaining the Standards library and co-authoring the internal engineering design manual as Design Engineer- Noise reduction, air quality monitoring, risk assessment, and chemical risk reduction projects, safety training, guard design and installation, and achieving compliance with AS14001 as the Environment and Safety Engineer
