At the time Mark was hired to grow the North American business WJ was working on one major project in Toronto, the Egllinton Crosstown LRT. Mark was given responsibility to grow the business and managed client services, business development and marketing. Mark's focus was to grow WJ in Canada by getting all of the major construction and property development companies to include WJ on their dewatering bids and win those projects back from the two top competitors who owned a 99% market share for over 25 years. Mark developed a comprehensive and highly structured sales program he personally implemented that included emails and cold calls to over 1500 executives in the targeted 300 companies, and setting up online and face meetings and lunch and learn events to present the difference in the dewatering technology and equipment WJ used.Mark created and led the meetings and also created and leveraged all new marketing tools he created that included email and call scripts, industry media case studies and advertising, technology videos, CAD based PowerPoint presentations, and industry events that attracted over 200 executives each.
