Mark Burgess Email and Phone Number
I have wide-ranging, successful experience in the management, development and delivery of a variety of training programmes, as well as recruitment, work placement and the development of job roles. I have initiated the effective and vigorous use of management information and tracking of progress to ensure quality and timely delivery. Example 1:At the Merchant Navy Training Board I was canvassing employers and liaising with a variety of professional organisations to promote the take-up of apprenticeships. I provided a secretarial service to the Maritime Trailblazer group, developing new apprenticeship standards and assembling all requisite papers as well as actioning all directions of the group. I provided a similar service to the Ratings Task Force, an amalgamation of employers, unions and DfT, charged with improving prospects for UK seafarers.Example 2:As Learning Manager and Vocational Team Leader at Tower Hamlets I managed the workload and provided direction for a number of trainers and assessors' including standardisation , the evaluation of programmes and updating training materials. Across the organisation, I designed and delivered programmes covering Modern Apprenticeships, Performance Management, Advice and Guidance and the ILM certificate in team-leading as a way to prepare future managers to develop their role.Example 3:Worked closely with employers, to develop job-roles for new staff and ensuring that those filling the positions were motivated, confident and properly supported. I managed and organized week-long induction processes for new apprentices at LBTH ensuring that each new intake was motivated and confident.Example 4:At Social Enterprise London I developed training-needs analyses, the purpose of which was to improve the skills of start-up businesses and in synchronising specific training programmes around recurring training needs. Here and at LBTH,clear evaluation and feedback data was relayed to managers and other senior staff.
