As a result of the lack of a local running club, my partner and I started Sherfield Park Runners in March 2013. Today the club has around 80 members training twice a week and entering a wide range of races from the London Marathon to the weekly Saturday parkrun. The club is UK Athletics affiliated.From set up I was Club Secretary and Membership Secretary, then adding Chairman from June 2014. In March 2015 I stood down from the the day to day running of the club to concentrate on my own running having set up and matured the club to be successful and sustainable. A newly elected Committee is now overseeing the club in order to take it forward to the next stage of development.
