Business AnalystPioneer Investments Jul 2006 - Dec 2008Dec 2008 At Pioneer I was part of a project team focused on the integration of the LatentZero front office system. I was responsible for feeding the market data into the LatentZero system. Specific projects included:Building a Referential Database:I was responsible for developing a staging database that held market data from various providers and formatted the data to load into LatentZero. The instrument data was provided from Bloomberg, along with data from Pioneer's internal database. Benchmark constituent data was provided from RIMES. Data was loaded from MarkIT for RED data and curve spreads. Munich Initial LZ Implementation:I was involved in gathering the business requirements for front office users specifically in regard to instrument data requirements. These requirements involved providing data for new asset classes (I determined how the new asset types would be classified within LatentZero) and additional attributes for existing asset classes (providing data requirements and then using Bloomberg fields to provide these requirements) in order to provide UCITS compliance checks. I was involved in all stages of the development cycle and was a successful part of a 5 man project team. The role required effective communication and cooperation between different departments (QA, front office users, middle office). I worked on site in Munich for much of the six month project. GoldenSource to LatentZero Instrument Field mapping:In 2007 Pioneer implemented GoldenSource as a security master system. The existing data feeds were replaced with a feed from GoldenSource. This required all the fields on the instrument table to be mapped from their location in GoldenSource into LatentZero. -
Computing TeacherInstitut Le Nov 2003 - Aug 2005August 2005 Le Rosey is one of the most prestigious schools in Europe, attracting students from around the world. During my time at the school I taught Maths and Computing up to International Baccalaureate level (equivalent to A level). Teaching three of the most technical subjects has greatly improved my communication and presentation skills; I developed the discipline and organisation required in preparing high quality lessons. Many of the skills necessary in teaching have proved valuable in my current position; most notably, the ability to present clearly and concisely difficult technical information and the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis when preparing lessons.

Senior Software EngineerNcorp Ltd, Cambridge Dec 1999 - Jun 2001NCorp Ltd was started in December 1999 in Cambridge with technology linked to the founder of Autonomy, Dr Mike Lynch. I joined the company as one of only 6 employees, which allowed me to gain a large amount of experience and responsibility immediately. The role required an ability to programme in a range of languages (C++, Java, VB, SQL) and a good understanding of how to structure and query large databases (Oracle and SQLServer). I was involved in the development of the company's core product, utility GUIs to support the product and the creation of large databases to demonstrate the product. I would be involved in the presentation of the product to clients and the post sale and implementation support. The company's core product allowed database information to be searched in a less rigid way than basic SQL. This was achieved by modelling business data into a mathematical model.
