After a successful apprenticeship period, I was offerred to work as a part-time employee while studying for my degree. Most of my responsabilities were the same from since I have been working as an apprentice however, I had conducted other tasks which require a higher level of responsaibility. These tasks are listed below:• Supervising and assisting interns and students• Inputting results into the LIMS software• Participated within the audit• Validation of a new analytical instrument

Throughout my second year of the course Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Technology, I had successfully conducted a 4 week internship orgramme with Siegfried Ltd and conducted the following tasks as a QC laboratory analyst:• Dissolution testing• UV/Vis spectroscopy analysis• HPLC analysis• GC analysis• Microbiological analysis• TLC analysis• Physical testing• IR analysis• Titrations

Throughout my first year of the course Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Technology, I had successfully conducted a 4 week internship orgramme with Evolve Ltd and conducted the following tasks as a field service engineer:1. Maintaince of scientific equipment such as the HPLC and the blood gas analyser2. Validation of scientific equipment such as the liquid particle counter and fume hoods3. Calibration of scientific equipment such as the autoclave and probes4. Installation of scientific equipment such as the laminar flow hood and the UV/Vis spectrophotometer

Thanks to the Erasmus department from MCAST, I had to opportunity to work at Cervezas Río Azul, Cervezas Río Azul is known as one of the best brewing companies and restaurant in Seville. My main responsability was to assist in the production of beer. This workplace helped me to understand how beer is made and to apply scientific concepts in the production of beer.

Thanks to the apprenticeship scheme from MCAST, I had to opportunity to work at Water Services Corporation as an apprentice. Water Services Corporation is a company were it collects water samples from Malta and Gozo and analysis are performed depending from where the same is from. During my time at Water Services Corporation, I had worked at a chemistry and a microbiology lab and had operated different instruments such as the UV/Vis Spectrophotometer and the GC-MS.
