30+ years working with & for children & young people. operationally & strategically within the Gov of JerseyBeing a reflective person has played a big part of my development journey with making a few mistakes ! on my way, learning from these and changing the way I do things.Being a non-academic I studied hard to gain my degree in Youth Work, as well as other non accredited courses to upskill in lots of areas relevant to improving myself to provide the best service I can to Island children & young people, which has always been my drive.The Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership from Chartered Management Institute helped me in developing skills in leadership, staff development, strategic thinking and becoming a reflective leader over the past 13 years and I'm still learning!A working life to date with children, young people, families, staff & the many different relationships we form whether personaly or professionaly has taught me empathy, how to actively listen, provide appropriate support and challenge when required and see all people whether young people or staff reach their full potential.Seeing people develop, grow and achieve gives me great job satisfaction and lucky to work with an awesome group of people.
