Support and improvement of Configuration Management processes. Introduced use of virtual machines for enhanced management of build environments. Created build environment for initial Macintosh client release. Rewrote Linux server RPM packaging and server startup scripts.

Implemented appropriate CVS branching strategies for Napster server software; deployed Perforce for management of Napster client code (Windows & Macintosh); assumed maintenance of home-grown tools for management of Napster server farm (150+ customized RedHat Linux x86 machines).

Development of Linux port of FrameMaker from an existing prototype into an open public beta release. This included porting of FrameMaker development tools, identification of special Linux release issues, and development of internal web resources for managing beta feedback.Contributed various bugfixes identified from public feedback to production release of FrameMaker 6.

Hired to implement and deploy ClearCase-based version control for all software development within the Interactive Banking division. Analyzed the actual requirements of development projects, and the network infrastructure of the Bank, and demonstrated the inappropriateness of Clearcase in the existing environment. Identified Perforce as a viable alternative; evaluation and planned deployment curtailed by NationsBank acquisition.

Design and implementation of project build environment; build directives are generated from a high-level configuration language by a system of stylized Perl scripts, in order to provide a higher degree of portability and flexibility than is available directly using common make tools. Initial target configuration for Clearcase clearmake fully prototyped.

Development of process for applying consistent indentation to FrameMaker code base, and confirming lack of semantic changes. Significantly enhanced GNU indent: partial C++ support, regular expression matching of type names, bug fixes.
