Mark Charman champions the human rights and authentic perspectives of children.He currently works closely with school leaders and other education professionals in London and the south east of England to elevate children as empowered citizens who believe themselves to be relevant, knowing that their opinions are significant and their actions, influential.His approach starts at primary school level, insisting on the importance of early investment into children’s critical thinking and communication strategies, of child-led enquiry, and greater autonomy for pupils to innovate and creatively lead on matters most significant to them.Since 2001, Mark has: • engaged with at least 32,000 children and young people; • worked directly with more than 260 schools; and • provided training for over 1,200 teachers.Mark has worked closely with a broad range of organisations including STEP Academy Trust, the British Council, the Council for Education in World Citizenship, the Welsh Centre for International Affairs and the European Commission.
