My career has been all about saving lives. My work in the Emergency Room puts me in touch with all the realities of delivering healthcare on a daily basis.

Phoenix Rural Health was formed because rural hospitals are disappearing and is dedicated to saving them. As an MD for the past 36 years, I’ve been involved with many facets of healthcare including obstetrics, family medicine, wound care, hospitalist care, and emergency medicine. I’ve formed a very experienced team of healthcare professionals with the mission of saving rural hospitals, lives, and our rural way of life.

Purchased three hospitals on the verge of closure. Using a novel model of joint ownership with physicians, we were able to keep all three hospitals open. We exited with the change of legal status to physician ownership. All three hospitals were viable at that time.

Along with my medical partners, resurrected the center which had been closed by a tertiary system. Rebuilt it into a thriving diagnostic center with MRI, CT, a surgery center, and hired seven PCPs. It’s still thriving today.
