I will begin my 30th year with the Norfolk Public Schools in August 2018.I've been the President of Read Aloud Nebraska and Read Aloud Norfolk, two nonprofits that promote the importance of "reading aloud to children" and provide resources (e.g. books) to help make it happen, since 2001. Read Aloud Norfolk has provided nearly 70,000 free, new books to local children in need. Read Aloud Nebraska offers workshops and mini-grants to enhance school and community efforts.I'm a Life Member of Optimist International and charter member of the Noon Optimist Club of Norfolk. I am a Certified Club Builder and have sponsored nearly 100 members during my 25 years as an Optimist. I am a Christian D. Larson Partner and Honored Benefactor with the Optimist International Foundation. I have served as Club President (4x), Lt. Governor of Zone 4, Governor of the Nebraska District and as Vice President for the Great Plains Region.I'm the advisor for the Norfolk Panther JOOI (Junior Optimist Octagon International) Clubs in Norfolk, Nebraska, since 2001.
