I have had the title of manager in some way, shape, or form since 1985. Well rounded in management and sales. I tend to find I am one of the rare few that enjoy sales. I am always hovering at the top if not at the top in production. I work hard to know the ins and outs of any business that I am involved in in order to be that go-to person so that is necessary for the success of the team. I had the opportunity to learn a knew skill as a tax preparer and and manage an office and I adapted well to it, running some of the largest and most successful tax offices in Manhattan. My background in banking has helped with regard to my success as I am able to understand a clients concern with regard to their investments and retail banking concerns. This gives our clients greater comfort that they have come to the right place. These skills have been rewarded as I have been assigned to the team that will introduce Block Advisors to Manhattan. This is an endeavor that matches my skills with additional outsourcing products for the small business customer as well as the individual with a more complicated tax situation.In 2020 I had the opportunity to work as a Census Field Supervisor for the United States Census Bureau. I was put in the position of training field operatives, averaging training 36 per day, 216-220 per week. Training went on throughout almost the entire Census exercise and I had my own staff of 20 and higher to manage on a daily basis. Responsibilities included knowing where each one was, solving problems both individually and technically, handling payroll daily (seven days), in field training and observation as well delivering them supplies when necessary. From there I went into Contact Tracing in affiliation with the New York State Department of Health. The first requirement was to take and pass a course offered by John's Hopkins University. From that point I was placed in a training class and learned payroll, Microsoft Teams, additional services in Outlook as well as Word and Excel. Once trained it was my responsibility to reach out to individuals that had been identified as Contacts with the NYS Department of Health and advise/counsel them regarding the steps they needed to take in order to comply with the Covid laws of New York State, This required me to show empathy when necessary, be firm when necessary and be able to answer as many of their questions I was capable of answering and empowered to answer. Skills required also included cold calling, adhering to a script until you were able to make it your own.
