I am responsible for team of analytical chemists in there day to day work, method development, validation and customer relations. I am also involved in investigating new methods as per customer and business needs.

I responsible for the ICP-MS team developing and validating methods for the elemental analysis of a variety of pharmaceutical products that range from supporting synthetic chemists during the development phase right through to analysis of the final drug products and ensuring compliance to international standards. I work with customers from across the world. I also assist others within the Mass Spectrometry team in method development and troubleshooting.

I was brought here in a start-up laboratory to develop and accredit test methods in drinking water analysis. I developed and validated a new method for the tesing of the acrylamide monomer in drinking water. Only the second lab in UK to have this accreditation. I oversee the continuing accreditation of the test methods in the lab as well as developing new tests and expanding the laboratory into new fields.I have to use a range of skills from managing a budget to meeting new potential customers, consulting with our current customers, providing expert advice and I also work in the lab developing new chemistry methods.The laboratory has recently been described as tremendous by external assessors due to the continuous improvement ethos that I promote within the business.
