Bury Lake Young Mariners (BLYM) is a youth charity organisation (Reg no. 1102162) which is used by over 6000 people each year. BLYM is run entirely by over 100 volunteers.I was invited to sit on the Board of Directors and to be a Trustee of the organisation. The appointment involves regular board meetings and interfacing with external stakeholders. Due to continued growth, to ensure we remain operational strong, and able to deliver our charitable goals, we decided to undertake a complete re-build of our facilities. This is estimated at approximately £1.8m and will be part funded by BLYM, outside contributions and the local authority.

Principal achievements:• Leading the analysis of market leading digital propositions. This involved shaping the proposition, defining the scope, estimating and resource planning. We build a new direct to consumer investment portal that guided investors without a financial adviser through the confusing investment process;• Pushing through a challenging and innovative design within a risk adverse business; • Received a Recognition Award for my continued efforts to achieve the businesses goals;• Waterfall and Agile project methodologies within Financial Services;• Successful delivery of a complex website used by approximately 15,000 Financial Advisers to service end investors; • Compilation of feasibility studies to assist in the delivery of the businesses strategic road map;• Project support through testing and warranty;• Analysis tasks – as is and to be process engineering, user journeys, collation of requirements and product backlogs;
