This position carries the responsibility of managing Esys's entire product portfolio. It is a varied portfolio of automation products including, automated & robotic machines, vision systems, dispensing equipment, software systems & RF systems. I manage all R&D, New Product Development (NPD), Product Life Cylce (PLM), Intellectual Property (IP) & Product Data (PDM) activities for the company.

In this position I managed a business unit whose focus is to provide Automation to manufacturers. This was a Profit & Loss responsible position. Managed 18 Engineers & Project Managers. This business unit provided custom project based automation to customers. In addition, several Automation Products were developed, launched, and supported.

In this position I manage Industrial Automation projects. Project budget sizes from $20,000 to $9 million, and project teams sizes up to 6 engineers & 6 support staff. Types of Industrial Automation projects include: Tire & Wheel assembly lines, Robotic Welding assembly lines, Robotic Paint process, Industrial Ovens, Multiple types of conveyor systems, AS/RS systems, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) RF systems, Vision Systems, etc.

Engineer industrial automation systems & PLC based controls systems, including: hardware design, software development, UI development, network configuration, install, debug, & start up.

Contract Postion with GM through Optimal Engineering. I worked in the Vehicle Safety and Structural Simulation group, performing FEA simulations to support the design of the Saturn Vue. Used Altair Hypermesh to model the vehicle & LS-DYNA nonlinear dynamic software to simulate vehicle impacts to assess the vehicle's crashworthiness and structural soundness. This analysis simulated Federal Safety Standards (FMVSS) & Insurance Institue (IIHS) tests.

Performed FEA simulations to support product development on various automotive systems, inlcuding: seats, side impact beams, roof crush analysis, hydroforming, CFD for air headers, floor pans, suspension systems, etc.
