I’ve recently gained my Diploma in Personal Finance (DipPFS) and have joined Moore Kingston Smith Financial Advisers specialising in teachers’ pensions. I recently retired from teaching following almost 30 years at Marlborough College, twelve spent as a Housemaster. I represented colleagues as chair of our Conditions of Salaries and Service Committee and worked hard to ensure the College adopted a hybrid pensions offering rather than an enforced move to a DC scheme with a complete withdrawal from the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.I pride myself on my organisational and time management skills and enjoy working within a team. I have organised multiple charitable whole school walks, managing 1000+ pupils and staff. I have a strong belief in community service and spent five years as Head of Outreach organising activities for our pupils in support of the local community. I created strong connections with local primary schools, care homes and charities. I managed an after-school club for 100+ local primary school pupils each summer term. I was Courses Director for Marlborough College’s Summer School (2006/7) responsible for supporting in excess of 300 courses running over a three week period. Prior to teaching I worked for four years as an IT project manager across a wide range of regional offices for what has now become PWC. I also spent a year in their audit department working at a wide range of client sites. My first graduate job was as a network communications engineer for Case Communications, installing and maintaining computer communications equipment at client sites across the North of England. I served in the Territorial Army for five years, gaining my commission in the Royal Signals in 1985.
