Group Tax Manager
I was responsible for managing the tax affairs for The FA Group (including Wembley National Stadium) across all taxes. This role required expertise in corporation tax, VAT and employer/employee tax. The role was heavily focused on tax advisory the Group entities and high profile individuals within the organisation. The role also included efficiently managing tax compliance, tax forecasting and tax accounting whilst managing relationships with external advisors and HMRC and other tax authorities. I provided tax support on a number of high profile projects, including the successful Euro 2020 Bid, FIFA World Cup 2014, England Commission's ParkLife project (devised trust structure to take ownership, maintain and run previously local authority owned pitches and transforming them into 3G pitches with a view to improving the quality and cost of providing football in England), FRS102 adoption, Group restructure, R&D claims as well as a number of other ad hoc projects.

Tax Manager
I was responsible for a portfolio of clients ranging from large multi-national corporations to small owner managed businesses. I was responsible for the work undertaken, working with other Deloitte teams and project management (i.e. billing, time management, engagement management) as well as managing junior members of the team. The work was varied and ranged from: Tax advisory, tax compliance, tax disclosure preparation, due diligence and tax audit. I was involved in several corporate restructuring projects involving multi-national groups (including cross border mergers), tax residency advice, ATCA's, CFC advice, refinancing, R&D claims, SSE claims, to name a few. I obtained great breadth of tax exposure whilst working on two secondments during my time at Deloitte: A three month stint in Deloitte Guernsey, where I worked on a number of offshore clients and also a client secondment to the Equitable Life Assurance Society where I took role as an inhouse tax consultant for 18 months providing great exposure to VAT, employment taxes and insurance related taxes.
