I work (though, as 'The moving finger writes ...', now a lot less than previously!) mostly on strategic and business planning-related assignments as well as on reviews and evaluations. These are largely with public organisations in Ireland, north and south. Along with that is some Tyrone farming.Previously I had different broadly planning-related jobs with the NI Housing Executive, NI Planning Service, University of Ulster, Western Health and Social Services Board and the Sperrin Lakeland HPSS Trust. I am a chartered town planner with full membership of the RTPI.Outside formal work I am privileged to be involved as a volunteer with the GAA at Kildress and Tyrone levels: that'll be for as long as the GAA stays a community-based, volunteer-led/driven and amateur organisation. Those are things that, sadly, are under increasing attack! It's my current delight to be involved with Kildress Wolfe Tones GAA's pioneering £1.5m community hub project and to have been Chair of Club Tyrone, a special 'movement'​ of Tyrone people who cherish the GAA and what it does here. I've been previously honoured to sit on the boards of the BBC Appeals Committee, Community Foundation for NI, the Lissan House Trust, the Mercy Solidarity Fund, Oaklee Housing Association, Rural Community Network (NI), the Rural Development Council (NI), the Rural Housing Association and the Tara Centre, Omagh.
