I have been responsible for project managing a number of installations within the SIS Milton Keynes and Media City offices. From initial requirement evaluation, costing, installation and handover to operations.My projects have covered a wide spectrum of broadcast disciplines including RF, DVB-T/S, Video over IP, SAT Comms, Telecoms and baseband audio/video.I'm current involved in a number of research projects for both internal and external customers.Equipment - Evertz Hybrid Router System (EQX/EMR/Magnum), Ericsson Contribution Platform (satellite and IP), Netinsight (Nimbra), DVB-T MUX, Trilogy/Clearcom Talkback Matrix.

While within the Engineering maintenance department I provided first line support to the broadcast infrastructure which included all equipment within the galleries, MCR and the Milton Keynes teleport.From day to day preventative equipment maintenance to critical equipment failures I undertook each one with the care required not to impact service reliability.

Monitoring both fixed and adhoc services operating out of the Chalfont St Giles teleport, i also shared the responsibility of providing first line support to customers with Co-Location equipment within the CAR areas.Equipment - Paradise Sat Modem, Tandberg compression/adaptation MUX, Pharos Router Automation, Maxview M&C.

Designed and built the infrastructure for six studio's, an MCR and central apparatus room. Including all broadcast systems, electrical, telephony and networking. As well as hardware design I was also responsibility for implementing of a number work processes for both engineering and production. Undertook a number of R&D projects for external customers in broadcast automation, including interfacing with third party systems and camera control. Technology included Video-Over-IP encoding and transport, non-linear editing suites, video for the web encoding/transcoding as well as single operator studios. Assisted with the launch of a number of TV channels on to the SKY network, including pre-transmission tests and scheduling. Provided a point of escalation for service impacting outages.Equipment and applications I gained experience of: Playbox Broadcast Automation System, Optibase Encoders, Broadcast Pix, Indigo Vision Encoders, Grass Valley and Sony Cameras.

Specialising in lighting design and operation I saw 63a provide a number temporary installations and touring solutions. Clients requirements ranged from product launches, music events and exhibitions. As a intelligent lighting operator I undertook a number of training workshops with my previous college.Equipment I gained experience with included Nexo, Avolites, Martin Professional, Allen and Heath, Stand, Q-Commander and High End Systems.
