My basic role was to take on the collection of well engineered, but badly planned products that came with the acquisitions policy of the late 90s.The idea was to then find a market for them by going around the regional sales teams, who understandably were ignoring them and selling mainstream equipment.One of these products was the WiFi 802.11 which Lucent in its infinite wisdom saw fit to give away!Before they did that however we managed to build the first models for information display and public television and advertising in railway stations and other gathering points.
