Working to grow the game of rugby in the local community for everyone.
I have delivered on circa 30 UKCC Level 1 & 2 courses as a Coach Trainer (including one with the professional players at Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland 7’s). I also plan and implement coach development updates at the current rugby club NBRFC, being a coach educator has allowed me to develop my abilities in how I present information to groups.
Setting up and maintaining partnerships with voluntary sector organisations to collaborate on the Game On project to ensure a flow of participants onto the Game On projects. 270 participants completed the programme over three years and over 140 made positive progressions, surpassing the targets set for the project. • Design and agree the delivery model of the Game On project, with our partners to ensure that we meet the engagement, participation & progression targets within the agreed timescales. Successfully implemented behavioural change in young people, from the NEET demographic, who are one of the most difficult to encourage to change behaviour. Ensure accurately and up to date monitoring, evaluation and data capture for all levels of the Game On project, and report this to all relevant stakeholders. Wooden Spoon, the main funding provider used the report as a good practice example for other partners they work with. Manage the Edinburgh Rugby Community coach and casual coaches, to ensure competitions, activities and camps are delivered to support Schools and Youth programmes such as Schools of Rugby as well as promoting the brand of Edinburgh Rugby. The latest community engagement project is a P7 competition taking place over several match nights. Created an excellent partnership with the Princes Trust, working with several of their programmes and initiatives (the team programme, get started programme, future starts and fairbridge programme). Due to the high regard for our work, we were specifically invited to a celebration of the Prince's Trust at the Wolfson Centre in Glasgow with Prince Charles attending. Worked closely with staff and coaches at Edinburgh Rugby to create a workable system which boosted player appearance numbers by over 100% in half a season (from 256 to 563 in season 13/14) and in season 2014/15 achieved over 1200 appearances. Including Edinburgh Rugby Blitz sessions.
