Currently, I edit books for Lionel Ross at i2i Publishing. The books are mainly written by new authors and I help them through the finals stages of the publishing process. This work can mean detailed liaison with the authors, helping with the title and structure of the book, completing the formatting and layout according to the i2i house style, working through a copy edit, if the submission is more well developed, as well as proofreading to cut out errors making sure the book is ready for print. I also help the authors and the company with marketing advice, especially on social media. Before, at American Express, I worked in traditional marketing roles in planning, product development, pricing reviews, branding and communications strategy, TV / print advertising, direct marketing, trade advertising and sales force support.At a senior levels in the Middle East, Switzerland and Australia, the roles covered everything across the marketing mix.In addition, I was seconded by the HQ Training in Europe to help present training courses.At David Lloyd Leisure, I was out of the corporate suit and into a track suit as a full time certified tennis coach building and running a large junior tennis programme both on the courts doing the actual coaching but off the courts too where I ran the administration behind the activity.The success of the junior activity was built on operational consistency in running group lessons and a respect for parents, juniors and staff alike. Creating a positive / enjoyable atmosphere and environment was essential. New juniors were enrolled but kept coming back once they had. Participation rose to high levels and stayed there.I also worked in group wide coach training activity passing successful practices on to other coaches.Next, in the world of online retailing and blogging, the challenges shifted into the area of the internet, websites, SEO, e-marketing, social media platforms.The football / cricket memorabilia products I offered had to be relevant and the customer target well defined but if the e-marketing was not done properly, it didn't matter how interesting the articles were on my blog or how good the deal was on the items I was selling.Specialities: Editing skills at developmental, copy edit and proofreading levels.
