Indigenous Participation Manager for Secure Energy Joint Venture project. The construction of a $1.8 billion transmission line from South Australia to Wagga Wagga. With an Indigenous spend of approximately $38 million i am responsible for all Indigenous participation whether that be direct employment or the engagement of Indigenous companies, the purchasing through Indigenous companies of equipment or services or in fact guiding Non Indigenous subcontracting companies through the SEJV IPP guidelines so as to secure jobs for Indigenous people through the build. I work with both Federal and State government departments to secure additional funding as well as working with local schools and training institutions to support upskilling of local people and communities.With a work site of over 700 kms long the opportunities are many and vast. I am a "peoples person" that has mob in mind at every corner of the build. From dealing with local Indigenous busing companies for the transport of some 1400 workforce to site along the line to supporting a small Indigenous farmer supplying produce to the camps facilitates kitchens to feed the hungry hordes it is all part of the picture to meet the companies IPP targets. Working with Clontarf academies to produce nesting boxes for the project is just another example of think outside the square.
