Mark Curzon is a passionate architect and urban designer with over 20 years experience who possesses great skill and expertise in design specialising in complex place making projects, high rise commercial, cultural and residential projects, such as the multi award winning office tower 1 Bligh Sydney, Harbord Diggers, GOMA Brisbane, Wynyard Place Sydney, 100 Mount Street North Sydney, and Midtown Brisbane. Mark also specialises in design excellence competitions and has most recently won Central Place Sydney, 32 Smith Street, Parramatta and the Harbord Diggers at Freshwater, an important headland mixed use project. He has also received numerous National and International Awards for his work including the International High Rise Award.Other notable projects that Mark has completed include the highly acclaimed Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane and the prestigious Sydney Commonwealth Parliament Offices in Sydney.Design has taken Mark into other specialist areas such as Seniors Living which includes award winning projects Diggers at Freshwater, Bella Vista Gardens, Cranbrook Residences and Bayswater Gardens. Notable residential buildings include Shout Ridge and Dunstan Grove.Marks passion for design also extends to the detail of Interior Design, furniture and industrial design and has recently completed the award winning New Harbord Diggers and the Commonwealth Parliament Offices which included highly specialised facilities, Prime Ministers Office and Cabinet Room.Mark has also designed and delivered a number complex upgrades for commercial, residential and tertiary buildings such as Midtown Brisbane, 55 Market Street, 225 Macquarie Street and the UTS Central Hub.He is extremely interested in public space, social responsibility, sustainability and innovation and has delivered many 6 Star Green Star protects in commercial high rise, residential and interiors as well as Passive House and the Living Building Challenge.He continues to work in the academic field and is a regular guest lecturer events such as the World Built Environment Sustainability Conference, World Facade Conferences and locally at the University of Sydney, UTS, UNSW and Melbourne University whilst presenting at industry conferences locally and internationally on design, architecture, sustainability, building envelopes and retrofitting buildings.
