With a diverse background as a PGA Class A Professional, a Tim Hortons Franchisee, and an Orangetheory Fitness Franchisee, I've honed strong skill sets in various domains. Add to all that, in 2004 I was able to live out my childhood dream of winning the Brier, the Canadian Mens Curling Championship, and was deeply honoured to represent Canada on the world stage. My life experiences are extremely well rounded and fulfilling.Small business ownership in Canada has been a profound teacher in fiscal responsibility, emphasizing the importance of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and adaptability. The perspective as a business owner differs significantly from that of an employee or manager. Owning a small business through a pandemic was the most difficult experience I've ever endured, but also galvanized my perseverance and intestinal fortitude as an entrepreneur.In this journey, the most vital lesson I've learned is that people are unequivocally a company's greatest asset. Building a team and nurturing a highly positive culture lies at the heart of effective leadership. Emotional intelligence is pivotal in shaping workplace culture, and I take pride in my growth in this area over the years. Guiding individuals through ongoing training, sharing life experiences, and shaping career paths brings immense joy and satisfaction as I witness team members progress.My life's path has led me to over 15 different countries, offering a glimpse into the world's rich diversity, uniqueness, and beauty. Travel has been a cherished part of my life, and I intend to explore many more countries, savoring each unique experience.Most recently I have been seeking a new opportunity, and I'm most drawn to the hospitality, resort, golf or curling industry. I had the privilege of being part of Fox Harb'r Resort in its early stages as the Director of Golf Operations, and the workplace culture we cultivated was simply exceptional.
