Working in partnership with ES Sales and the Technical Account Management (TAM) teams, I am responsible for fostering effective working relationships in order to deliver agreed solutions to clients in a timely and professional manner. A key part of my role is to manage and leverage relationships with other internal Bloomberg departments, in particular where client deliverables are at risk. I have on a number of occasions demonstrated my ability to influence and facilitate issues outside my remit in order to provide resolution and get projects back on track.Today many of the ES products are cutting edge and fast changing, therefore I proactively review new products provide feedback to R&D/Product groups; also provide the necessary training and documentation to the EMEA ES Group and external departments.As a senior member of the team I actively mentor other team members which included developing and executing training plans for new team members, provide leadership and consultancy, gateway for internal/external groups. I believe my work ethics and natural leadership qualities have been recognized as I have been given the ‘Backup’ Team Leader during my 1st year at Bloomberg. I had been TL for 2 years leading both the EMEA Implementation & EMEA Content Specialist teams. This was an opportunity to work and collaborate at a global level. This was a very good experience, but I concluded that I was better suited to a role that allowed me to be hands on and engage with customer directly.Now I have taken on the Role of being the Managed Feed Adapter Lead in EMEA. This has been interesting as I build configuration RPM’s for the Bloomberg servers and work with Network Operations to install and test customer’s connections to RMDS/TREP is working correctly. This means I work heavily with Production Support, Product, R&D and the customer for deeply integrated solutions. Show less

My role at Abbey National/Santander/Produban GBM was to develop and support the Asset Control market data warehouse and manage the UK SWIFT payments team. The Asset Control system collected and redistributed cleaned, validated market data to downstream systems around the business. In my role as the team manager, I had to mentor the other team members and make sure that development guidelines are being followed. I had the responsibility of maintaining the availability and performance of the SUN hardware on which the system operates, as well as the development of Perl, Shell scripts to automate many Asset Control tasks. As Asset Control is very sensitive to the market data infrastructure, my team has the responsibility of running the Reuters RMDS platform and the Bloomberg connectivity for the whole bank. I have worked on planning and implementing the various hardware and software upgrades; making sure they had been built to my teams’ standards and the right software is installed, configured and tuned. The main challenges in this role were the deadlines and regulatory constraints imposed by the nature of the markets and the possibility of losing money due to system failures/glitches. The responsibility of this role meant that I was on call every other week for the systems I supported.
