I was working in the natural resource sector, and often encountered challenges with logistics companies being unable to resupply operations with the essential supplies required in a timely and cost-effective manner.It was during this period that I found it extremely difficult to source critical spares and consumables for our operations as we only had limited space to carry spares. Our team often worked 6 to 12 hours away from regional centres and cities, and we found traditional logistics carriers would take up to a week to resupply our operations and charge us premium rates to do so.To resolve this issue, we often resorted to hiring unemployed town locals to carry out transport as a far more efficient and cost-effective solution than waiting for couriers.Having left the industry to be closer to his family in Hobart, the logistics pain point led me to tackle tackle the courier industry head-on, launching Rocketeer Couriers after significant market research.
