Mark maintains a counselling practice with youth, young adults, couples and families. Along with his wife, he also gives guidance to families who are either considering adoption or actively involved in the process. He also accepts regular speaking engagements in schools and churches and remains available for crisis counselling.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Mark represented World Vision at the Edmonton International Airport part-time as an expression of his deep care, concern and compassion for vulnerable people groups. This new challenge gave hope and a hand up to people around the globe by providing basic needs and new opportunities, For Mark, his primary role was education and advocacy while raising support for this excellent not-for-profit NGO.

Mark led many youth and young adults to discover their potential and follow their passions. Mark's role led him to give counsel to students in group and individual settings, providing assistance and care when needed. He has been a team leader for international youth trips and mobilized many youth and young adults to serve in and care for their local community. He provided programming and teaching for students and their families as well as training for his team of volunteers. Mark also sat on the elders board and worship committee. He was part of a monthly worship team and special worship nights.

Mark fulfilled a number of roles that mobilized and motivated volunteers to serve others. He cultivated a team young adult leaders during this time who carried on the majority of his responsibilities, such as directing and leading weekly gatherings through instruction, encouragement, and music. Mark developed systems, environments and publications to connect people, give them value and make them feel at home within the organization. Mark also led worship and equipped leaders and artists to express their gifts. He began his work here as a volunteer serving teens and their parents and continued this role throughout his time at RCF.

Calgary, Alberta

Mark gained experience in several roles within the organization, moving from a labour position to carpenter's assistant, carpenter, purchase and order desk, cabinet maker and became a site supervisor before long. His advancement through the organization speaks to his ability to learn quickly, adapt, work well with a team and excel in a variety of roles.

Mark was able to draw youth of diverse religious, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds from the local community into the organization along with his team of caring adult volunteers. One of his responsibilities included organizing and executing regular and special group events and activities with large groups of Jr. and Sr. High students. He led weekly group study times and conducted one-to-one mentoring for students in need of care and counsel. He also founded a young adult group intended for care, community and study. He also directed groups of students in a worship band and occasionally led worship with his wife, Faith.
