I am a detail-oriented lab manager, metallurgist and organic chemist with 17 years’ experience in the mining industry. My work experience and achievements have enhanced my eye for detail and firmed solution-based attitude. This has enabled me to drive change by identifying opportunities based on reviewing current and historic data.During my time in production, I have spent six years working with LST pegmatites, using physical separation methods such as screening, gravity methods such as DMC, jigs, spiral and tables as well as flotation to achieve beneficiation of ore. I have also analysed resource chemistry preparing flow sheets for test work through to plant design. I have also worked in stockpile blending to ensure that shipments were sold to client specification.I have also spent three years working with iron ore, analysing historical data to prove plant efficiencies as well as resource chemistry. I am able to identify areas economically viable areas as DSO as well as those requiring beneficiation and running programs to determine the best method for achieving targets.Prior to working for producers, I worked for five years in a lab environment completing my PgDipSci in Extractive Metallurgy working my way up to project metallurgist from Met Tech / Chemist. During this time, I dealt with multiple commodities including, but not limited to haematite, magnetite, nickel laterite, and gold. I was responsible for running programs on time and budget. I was also involved in invoicing and preforming inductions and mentoring new metallurgists and metallurgical technicians. This has given me a strong knowledge of laboratory management and testing processes which I have applied from lab scale to pilot plant work.
