After 13 years of sailing with BW, predominantly on VLCC and other tankers, I became an STS mooring master in 2011. Since then I have completed STS operations in multiple locations around the world, and with a full range of vessel sizes. Most of my experience is with crude or oil products, though I have also been involved in many LPG transfers. The vast majority of my 500+ STS operations have been conducted underway, with a few exceptions of jobs at anchor or double banking. Some of the most challenging locations I have worked include Uruguay, Brazil, Aruba and Southwold (UK). I have been involved quite heavily in training other mooring masters over the years, which is something I enjoy. Despite missing my family when I am away for work, I enjoy the job, and the challenges it presents.
