Liverpool To Ashfield Pipeline

The $110m Liverpool to Ashfield Pipeline (LAP) Sydney Water project involving the design, construction and commissioning of a 24km of 1050mm water/wastewater pipeline through the western suburbs of Sydney. Works also included the construction of two new pumping stations at Liverpool’s Water Recycling Plant and the Fairfield Wastewater Treatment Plant. As Site Supervisor, I was involved in construction of the pipe from Liverpool Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to the existing sewer at Ashfield. Construction work involved open cut trenching that extended 17.3km, micro-tunneling that extended 1.5km and slip-lining for 5.5km. I worked on site locations that involved working within a highly urbanized environment, including works within major Sydney transport corridors, along local residential streets and public reserves, underneath existing railway infrastructure and adjacent to under/above ground services.Another project highlight I was involved in was delivering the new pipe connected into the Western Branch Main Sewer at the Ashfield site via construction of a 25m deep shaft.
