The successful candidate will have a demonstrable record of operational management in a fast paced changeable environment. Experience of managing budgets, people and resources is essential along with evidence of dealing with customers and meeting their expectations.Main duties and responsibilities1. Prepare and manage staff shift patterns that effectively ensure consistent service delivery to all commercial ambulance customers.2. Respond to ad hoc requests for service delivery, including short notice tasking ensuring that service assets are utilised for maximum efficiency and commercial gain.3. Provide accurate minimum data sets for ‘sector’ level ambulance operations to meet NHQ reporting requirements.4. Provide the ambulance services coordinator with the necessary data required for the prompt and accurate invoicing for commercial ambulance activity.5. Ensure that all correspondence and data received and processed in relation to ‘sector’ commercial ambulance activity conforms to current NHQ policies in relation to data protection and medical confidentiality.6. Service Delivery Officer Previously Hwrc Services Manager
Responsible for the day-to-day management of a Contract for the operation of eleven Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) within the County and an operational budget of £2.5 million per year. This role involves liaising with the public and stakeholders at all levels from members of parliament to senior managers of large waste management companies. I have recently managed the transition of the HWRC contract between the outgoing contractor and the incoming contractor. I have managed the service transition of six of the HWRCs to the community sector, achieving a budget saving of £1.4 million per year. By achieving this, the public have still got recycling facilities in these locations, where at the outset we were looking at pure closures.I have been responsible for the implementation of new recycling schemes at the HWRC which have included plastics, cardboard and WEEE.Since starting the post I have developed a staff training package which has seen public complaints fall by 120% in two years. I have project managed the construction of a new HWRC and the operation of a temporary centre in the north of the county with a capital budget of £1.2 million. This project was delivered ahead of programme and under budget.I line manage the Recycling Inspectors and the teams’ Modern Apprentice along with a number of temporary staff on a contract basis that carry out survey work and act as recycling advisors.Managed a bid to DEFRA for six JCB waste compactors and other plant equipment. Once these machines were implemented they reduced vehicle movements by a third, saving transport costs of circa £500,000 per annum.Introduced new processes for inspecting and managing waste management contractors, enabling them to understand and embrace the current environmental management system that is used by the authority and have been involved training internal auditors in inspections of systems and sites.
