Mark Dennis, an entrepreneur, sustainable energy consultant, and developer, brings extensive hands-on experience in energy efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE) development, and business management throughout the Caribbean. With a strategic focus on national-scale projects, Mark has contributed to over 10MW of run-of-the-river hydro feasibility studies, all-island wind feasibility mapping, and 4MW+ of solar photovoltaic (PV), Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC), and 35MW+ of waste-to-energy (WTE) project development in collaboration with international partners such as Cadmus Group, Semco Maritime, Naanovo Energy, and MRC Consultants and Transaction Advisers. Between 2022 and 2024, Mark facilitated the signing of over US$5 million in Solar PV/PV+ contracts, underscoring his ability to execute complex energy solutions with tangible financial outcomes.Mark's expertise extends to consulting and advising local and regional public and private entities on utility-scale RE potential and feasibility. His impact spans five CARICOM states, engaging with government bodies, utilities, electricity regulators, and other stakeholders in Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, and St. Kitts & Nevis. On a strategic and technical level, Mark has played a key role in the development of impactful policies, including the Jamaica Renewable Energy Policy (2009 – 2030), the Integrated Energy Plan (IEP draft) (2021), and the Jamaica Renewable Generation Procurement Guidelines (2022). His influence extends to collaborations with reputable organizations like the Development Bank of Jamaica, World Bank, CARICOM, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), European Union, USAID, Total Energies, and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) on various RE and EE initiatives in the Caribbean.Since establishing his consultancy in 2012, Mark has been a pivotal figure in the private sector, offering valuable insights to clients across diverse sectors, including tourism, manufacturing, education, administration, accommodation, retail, agriculture, and healthcare.Mark, a Chevening Scholar, holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technologies and Management from Brunel University and a BEng 1st Class Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Jamaica. A registered Professional Engineer (Mechanical) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with over 16 years’ experience in sustainable energy, Mark is committed to driving positive change in the field.
