Set out to earn in PhD in the field of nutritional immunology. I am excited to expand our current understanding on the effect of micronutrients on immune cell function. Former Lab technician at a contract testing facility responsible for bioburden testing on variety of pharmaceutical products and medical devices in a commercial setting. Performed a variety of test methods in accordance with U.S, EU and Japanese pharmacopoeia. Formerly a MSc Medical Biotechnology graduate. I excelled in all aspects of my course and during this time conducted numerous experiments using various lab-based techniques, including PCR, immunoblotting, ELISA and immunohistochemistry. During these experiments I have had the opportunity to collect and interpret data and perform statistical analyses on data sets. I have been passionate about learning and I am now eager to utilise the skill set I have developed during my time in academia. I also achieved a first class honours in my undergraduate studies in (BSc Hons) Human Physiology. During my time at university I looked for new opportunities to improve my academic and personal skills. For example, I volunteered as a research assistant for a MRes student who was conducting their research project and I volunteered at a local food bank. Prior to university I worked in warehousing and the hospitality industries. These experiences provided me the opportunity to develop numerous skills, including my organisation and communication skills.
