I worked within a team of 4 people looking at innovative and ground breaking ways to transact business and maximize income potential. We looked at both Legal and Insurance services and worked with similar like minded companies to form strong partnerships for the future. My daily tasks would include the following:1. Developing and writing websites which are used as a platform to sell both the companies Legal and Insurance services to both the general public and other companies 2. Visit both Brokers and Underwriters with regards to our Legal Expenses Insurance product. 3. Regular meetings with the Company CEO and Department Heads to discuss the build a strategy around which business we are actively persuing 4. Liase with both PR and Advertising companies to promote the services of the Practice both locally and nationally 5. Liase with other departments and promote their services externally when speaking to clients 6. Update both the company Facebook and Twitter pages giving an alternative platform to which we promote the companies services

•Joined the Business Team as a Senior Underwriter looking after small to medium size cases within my licence level up to £25,000 premium threshold. I also looked at new business cases within my broker panel.•After Underwriting, I moved into a Leadership role within various different teams across the Croydon site. Although each team was different in their account make up, my main roles and responsibilities were as follows: •Identifying the development needs of my team and preparing a robust training plan for each individual to be monitored throughout the year•1-2-1 Reviews on a quarterly basis to ensure the staff are both engaged and motivated•Constantly monitor Underwriting Licence Levels, identifying opportunities for increased levels and look for coaching opportunities from experienced members of the team•Monitor workflow across the team, allocate and re-allocate when required and identify peaks and troughs in work patterns•Ensure compliance across the team with regards to FSA and Treating Customers Fairly.•Involved in the interviewing and recruitment of staff to the site. I was involved in assessment days across Croydon and Horsham and eventually the induction programme which followed•Collated reports for the Management team indicating our progress towards key targets like New Business and Retention. I would then publish these to wider team, explaining where we currently with achieving our results and what is required going forward•Regular communications with Brokers to ensure service standards are being met. I also visit key brokers on a quarterly basis, mainly to discuss any issues they may have and also look at the potential new business pipeline•Responsible for delivering training course across different sites. I was particularly proud to deliver the Sales Effectiveness course which was built around changing the mindset of an Underwriter during a soft market.
