Here I enjoy a challenging and varied role where I oversee a diverse, multidisciplinary team of 20 including Account Analysis, Credit Controllers and Busines Analysis, motivating and driving performance whilst managing all training and development activities. Of my many successes within this role I delivered a £12m cash injection to the company through an overhaul and redesign of the Credit Policy; implemented controls and revised financial contractual terms which simplified the process of customer payment collection, this contributed to an 80% reduction in overdue debt through two years of intensive management. I also transformed the financial management culture within the business with a particular emphasis on the Sales division, this significantly raised the priority of financial control, delivering a much-improved rate of cash collection and surpassing the target for debt reduction; received Director Award in 2019 for record debt reduction and exceeding the company targets on its overdraft levels. I additionally spearheaded the launch of a new suite of structured financial reporting to management tiers improving the effectiveness through greater accuracy and efficiency and enhanced evidence-based decision making for senior management; enabling improvements in cash collection and a greater focus on performance. Within this role, I identified and implemented an automated payment solution for customers resulting in significant improvement in the volumes of cash receipts within strict payment terms, this facilitated the work with the Sales division and the new credit management policy. Team building forms a key part of my role, within this capacity, I developed a fresh and vibrant Finance team, oversaw all training to create a dedicated team with capabilities to challenge the business processes and behaviours. I also identified and implemented improvements essential in introducing and managing the new financial policies with company stakeholders and customers.

During my time at Kao Group, I provided key leadership and direction overseeing a dedicated team of 10, continually monitored and drove performance whilst managing all training and development. Within this capacity, I coordinated with cross-functional teams, engaged with clients and conducted a detailed analysis to successfully managed financial settlements. I also supported all day-to-day operational running of the department whilst developing and presenting detailed and comprehensive reports to senior management teams. During this time, I oversaw a diverse portfolio of corporate clients which included John Frieda, Molton Brown, Boots, Tesco, Superdrug, led contract negotiations and managed technical, pricing, and delivery queries through to resolution whilst building and maintaining robust relationships.

Hatfield

As a senior Consultant, I successfully led the outsourcing function, developed and led a diverse team based in India, travelled on-site, set and managed all SLAs and KPI’s whilst delivering key training and empowering the team to make competent decisions, enhancing customer relationships. I was also the Finance Representative responsible for reviewing Post Contract Variations for off-shore outsourced services to deliver a greater focus on specific service standards in certain areas, this involved regular performance appraisals to determine whether performance deductions were necessary. During this time, I successfully managed the transition of the Credit Control Team to India handling annual collections of over £500m, and negotiated improvements to the contractual terms to enhance the quality of service. A key element of my role was to create and deliver key presentations and ensured compliance with internal company processes as well as regulatory legislation. Within this role, I managed a team of 12 Credit Analysts, managed performance as well as continually reviewing activities and addressing quality issues. I also held full ownership of a monthly commission payment of £50M; identifying the overpayments and conducted a review and implemented a simplified system raising the quality of data checking which contributed to a reduction in overpayments of commission at a level of £2m per month. Additionally, I proactively monitored contracts and KPI’s, identifying improvement opportunities and undertook special training overseas of off-shore contractors where necessary to deliver an improved performance particularly on prompt and accurate reporting.

Here I headed a team of 14 and oversaw a diverse portfolio of international accounts, led contract negotiations and effectively managed contract disputes. For this, I designed and implemented new KPI's to drive performance improvement, in particular, the reduction of overdue debt.
