Building Advanced Machine Learning Infrastructure for cloud deployments

Cloud computing and microservices architect working on Platform Engineering.Experienced Golang/Python developer building microservices applications for Kubernetes/Docker based applications. The deployment of these services required familiarity with various DevOps tooling such as Concourse-CI, Artifactory, Ansible, Helm Charts and Vault KMS.Several Open Source projects were leveraged during the development of these services including Kubernetes, Docker, Weaveworks Flux, Concourse-CI, Minio S3, Cassandra, and Open Policy Agent .Key projects that I have undertaken at State Street are highlighted below.The main focus of my efforts was the develop the concepts and principles for a Data Lake solution for State Street with due consideration to the strict financial regulations that apply in the banking industry.As part of this undertaking I was involved in the development of data and metadata microservices that provide RESTful S3 API storage services operating as part of a Kubernetes cluster. Containerized applications were developed for the S3 gateway, S3 object store and object metadata store. Hyperconverged resilient persistent storage pools for Kubernetes storage classes was developed and managed using LinBit/DRBD. These underlying storage devices were deployed on MAAS or Vagrant nodes using Ansible as the provisioning tool.Associated undertakings included development of middleware services that integrated with Security services such SSL/TLS, WSO2 identity management services, and the OPA policy engine. I am heavily involved in the development of a GitOps release engineering processes and tooling for staged releases, including the configuration and management of Jfrog Artifactory as a networked repository, Concourse-CI for automated build and test, and Weaveworks Flux for Kubernetes deployment.

Remote Copy Architect for the HPE/3PAR StoreServ product

Working at 3PAR on the Remote Copy product was challenging due to the nature of clustered computing, long latency networking, and data consistency/coherency when working with point-in-time replicas of data. During this period I was involved in several product deliveries including asynchronous streaming replication, automatic transparent failover between data centers, and the integration of 3PAR technologies with VMware Virtual Volumes. I was responsible for the management of the Remote Copy team for a period of time until a replacement manager was hired allowing me to return to the role of the architect and technical leader of the group.
