Dr. Mark Dollar holds a PhD in English and TESL from Purdue University in addition to a BA and MA in English from Baylor University. In total, he has over 20 years of professional administrative and teaching experience. He has taught a wide variety of courses in global awareness, British literature, film studies, composition, and second-language acquisition. He served King University over 13 years as Interim Dean of Graduate & Professional Studies, Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences, Chair of Humanities, Director of the Writing Center, Director of the Great Books Program, and Director of the Honors Program. While directing the Snider Honors Program at King, he drafted a new strategic plan and initiated study/travel partnerships with a global studies organization in Austria (Salzburg Global Seminar) and a HBCU for women in North Carolina (Bennett College). He has led students for travel and study to New York, Washington, DC, Montreal, London, Rome, Salzburg, and Munich.In January of 2015, Mark joined the Center for International Education at Baylor as Assistant Director for Study Abroad. Reporting directly to the Vice Provost for Global Engagement, Mark oversees the university's administration of faculty and student academic work abroad. The office of Study Abroad at Baylor administers a large portfolio of exchange, faculty-led, mission, and group semester programs across six continents.His abiding passion as an educator is to help students in diverse disciplines to become aware and engaged global citizens, using their academic talents to serve the common good in America and abroad.
